Our current research project is focused on the need for and nature of societal and civilizational leadership. By this we mean the qualities that are required for persons, groups of persons and whole societies to openly, consciously and democratically bend the arc of their own history enough to grow into a truly new form of civilization. In this sense, there is virtually no societal and civilizational leadership today. It is certainly the case that no society has the aspiration, leadership or organizational infrastructures required to consciously, openly and rapidly becoming a pioneer of the next form of human civilization.
